Minecraft on Android 16 beta is non-functional Pixel 7 Pro

I am having an issue after the android 16 beta update. When I open the game it loads to 55% and freezes. If I touch the screen it will say Minecraft is not responding. If I click wait and then wait about 3 minutes the main menu loads albeit with the video behind the menu frozen. If I wait another few minutes I can interact with the game. It basically goes: touch, wait, touch, wait. When it does load the game I do not have any issues. If I turn the screen off and resume there is about a 1 minute delay before I can move or interact with the environment. I have tried reinstalling and clearing cache / storage as well as leaving the minecraft beta. The same issue occurs on minecraft beta and normal.
