Cannot play mutiplayer on nintendo switch with xbox player

Ever since the new Creeking update Minecraft will not work. I play Minecraft with a friend (who's cross platform, Xbox player) and it will lag continuously and affect our game play. This has been going on for about a week. I've contacted Minecraft support multiple times and they gave me great help but nothing worked. I uninstalled then reinstalled the game and it worked for about an hour or two and then it crashed. The next day I played on the same world with the same friend and it all started to lag again. When I create a world my friend lags. When my friend creates a world, I lag. Nothing works and they lag so bad it takes ten minutes for them to go where I am. Just wanting to play Minecraft, I hope i'm not the only person who has this issue.
