randomly dieing when fall down deep hole while pressing shift here is slime block at bottim of hole

when i go down a one block wide hole while shifting i die half way down even though it should be  impossible to clip any blocks (i have lost 63 levels to this glitch) don't worry i have placed a slime block at bottom of hole so i cant die but this glitch still happens.  plz fix
