Dead brain coral block can only be placed on top of another block, like pots

This likely affects other dead coral blocks, but I experienced it first with dead brain coral. 

Dead brain coral blocks can only be placed if there is a supporting block below it, similar to pots or turtle eggs. If there is a supporting block, it can be placed by tapping adjacent blocks, but cannot be placed without said block.
