Nightlight Detector effected by blocks

When I cover a nightlight detector during the day, it's affected by the blocks surrounding. I was using a redstone comparator to see how it affects the nightlight detector. It's not affected by light sources surrounding it during the night.

The daylight detector was not affected when it was night and adding a light scouse around it.
