Pistons with no data can crash the game
The Bug:
When this bug is done on a unpowered piston with no data facing a normal sticky piston, it can cause a game crash.
How to Reproduce:
- Peform the https://mcdf.wiki.gg/wiki/Bedrock_Edition:Sub-Chunk_Regeneration glitch or
MCPE-188685in 1.21.44 Hotfix or an earlier version. Use the sticky piston as the only chosen block and also power it with a lever on top of the piston for that prerequisite glitch. That sticky piston should be facing the solid block bridge and also be placed on top of a solid block. - Upgrade the specific world you performed that prerequisite glitch to 1.21.50 or later once step 1 is reproduced of this current glitch, which is MCPE-188686.
- Once the sticky piston with no data appears, unpower the lever first, then remove the lever.
- Place a slime block 1 block away from where the piston head would have been able to extend in the no data piston.
- Place a normal sticky piston facing the piston with no data. At this point, the no data sticky piston should only have 1 block of an outline box. The newly placed sticky piston should also be placed 2 blocks away from the no data piston.

- Power the normal sticky piston.
- Unpower the normal sticky piston.
Expected Results
The sticky piston will retract normally. Whether the sticky piston should also bring along the no data piston normally with it is unknown. Also the game should not crash.
Observed Results
The game seems to severely lag and quickly crashes.
