(Experimental) Parity issue: /place command lets you place only 2 vanilla structures: Trail ruins and trial chambers

The Parity Issue:

/place structure only lets you place 2 structures from the vanilla game with /place structure without add-ons, that is trial chambers and trail ruins. Requires Data Driven Jigsaw Structures Experiment to reproduce. In Java Edition, you can place any structure that exists in the vanilla game with /place structure

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Create a world with the Data Driven Jigsaw Structures Experiment
  2. Run this command: /place structure minecraft:trial_chambers
  3. It works, and a trial chamber generates
  4. Run this command: /place structure minecraft:stronghold
  5. It does not work

Expected Result:

The /place command would have let you place any structure in the vanilla game, just like Java

Observed Result:

Only 2 structures from the base game of Minecraft: Bedrock Edition can be placed with /place, perhaps because of the way that these structures use jigsaw block generation for these structures.

Note:

This does not count the use of add-on structures.

This issue specifically talks about the vanilla structures that exist in the vanilla game.

This is a valid parity issue for these reasons:

  • Command /place exists in the latest development version of Bedrock and Java Edition. (/place is behind experimental gameplay in Bedrock.)
  • /place was added way after the Buzzy Bees.
  • There is something different to /place in Bedrock than Java. /place structure in BedrockĀ  lets you place only place 2 vanilla structures. /place structure in Java lets you place every vanilla structure.
