Nether portals in the End take you to y=32767 in the overworld and freeze the world

Steps to reproduce:

1. Using setblock or fill, place a nether portal block in the end.
2. Enter the portal

Expected result: the player is taken to one of the other dimensions and a portal spawns. Or, nothing happens.
Actual result: the player is taken to the overworld at y=32767. The game no longer properly recognizes the breaking and placement of blocks and reopening the world will return you to the location of the nether portal in the end standing inside of an end spawn platform.
