Hostile mobs

I am playing in survival mode in a world generated in the 0.16 version, and the hostile mobs spawn less. I was walking during the night and I did not see many of them. I'm not sure if this is a bug or due to the world. Difficulty in normal mode, render distance in 12 chunks.
