Biomes reset after update to 1.21.40

After updating to 1.21.40 in a world created roughly in version 1.17, biomes have been reset. My main base is (was) in a mushroom island but mobs are now spawning. In the supporting screenshots, please notice the change in grass color and drowned now spawning in the koi pond
