Mojang still hasn't fixed the 2GB limit on Switch posted 6 YEARS AGO!
I'm completely blown away at how Mojang hasn't been able to fix this issue in over 6 years. Well.... 2252 days to be exact. That's 162,144 Minecraft days!
Error reads:
"you are almost out of data storage space! Minecraft has restricted access to this feature until you clear up additional storage space. Please note: This device only allows Minecraft to use 2gb of storage."
(keep in mind the word "ALMOST")
My 7 yr old son can't access or play ANYTHING in his profile at all, despite having at least 10 gb free on our SD card.
BTW! After adding up our file storage space in the Minecraft settings window, it breaks down as:
Worlds - 1.1 gb
World Templates - 390.4 mb
Resource Packs - 38.8 mb
Behavior Packs - 10.5 mb
That only adds up to 1539.70 mb. What is up with the other 460.3 mb?
It's a global setting that Mojang REFUSES to change in their software. After contacting Nintendo support, the question was simple: "are any other games/software giving you this issue". The answer was NO. This is entirely a Mojang issue and problem they are REFUSING to deal with.
After speaking briefly with Mojang support, I can tell that they don't give a sh!t about this. I am going to be contacting my credit company to dispute the $30 of Minecoins my son was burned on by Mojang. After purchasing this content (with his own money), he cannot access anything. The game is now worthless. That includes recently purchased Minecoin content as well as his OWN CREATED WORLDS.
Mojang, stop sucking a$$ and fix this problem for real. Y'all can invest $200 million into an animated feature film, but can't fix a basic ongoing problem in the heart of your platform?
Pathetic.
Follow the dollar bro. Think about all the Minecoin revenue lost by people who know that won't be able to access it. My son would have spent another $200 in the next 12 months, and he currently has $20 in his wallet ready to go that Mojang will never see until this issue is fixed.
I WILL NOT ACCEPT: "oh but sir, you must delete content first". That's bullsh!t. We've already cleared Marketplace cache. We've already logged out of accounts and logged back in. HE CAN STILL NOT PLAY THE GAME AT ALL. He can't even check into a world to see what he is deleting first.
