Game/server crashes when moving bugged blocks with inventory storage
(seems to have been resolved in 1.21.50)
realms/singleplayer/server game crash exploit
reproduce:
1. Go into the end and locate a sub chunk at the bottom of the world
2. The sub chunk position needs to be in the negatives on the Z coordinate and have no other blocks in it.
3. Place a chest in the sub chunk
4. Save and quit
5. Reopen the world and break every block that was placed in that sub chunk
6. Save and quit
7. Reopen the world and the entire sub junk is reset to when it had blocks, but if you move the chest or anything that had an inventory slot with a piston the realm/game/server will crash immediately. The bugged chest does not go away once relogging so you can freely crash a server whenever you want with the flick of a switch. (blocks that render as entities will be invisible)
Unlisted video demonstration: Minecraft global crash exploit (youtube.com)
note: you need to be the only one in that dimension when saving and quitting, this works on realms, singleplayer, and coop, you can permanently lock yourself out of a single player world with a simple Redstone clock and a piston, the game crashes before you get in (unless you use an external editor to change your player position so you are not ticking the chunk), if you do that on a realm the realm server or server will crash every time you attempt to log in and load the chunks with the Redstone clock
just as some clarification, it does not need to be across chunk borders to crash if it is moved at all it will crash. Additionally this works with any block with inventory storage, chests, furnaces, blast furnaces, brewing stands. Etc, the ones rendered as entities are the only ones that will be invisible like shulkar boxes or chests. Blast furnaces furnaces and brewing stands will appear normal but you cannot interact with them and they still crash your game if you move them.
