Items in bundle disappear when left in chest during log out

I was playing on a new world with the gravestone add-on and had just turned on the bundle experimental feature. after crafting a few bundles and adding various items to each I left two of them in my double chest back at base before heading off to work on another project. came back a few times to grab more resources and the bundles still seemed fine but when I had to log off to go grab lunch, I came back only to discover that the bundles in my chest now said they were empty and the items gone even though the bundle in my inventory still had everything in in. the items that disappeared included three colors of dye, some flowers, various types of seed, and some potatoes.
