Tower Bug

I don't know how it works, but in my Minecraft Bedrock Hardcore world (I know there is no hardcore mode, I just survive in hard mode without dying), I randomly died while climbing up the mine by placing blocks under me. I had to delete the world, but it was a really bad situation. I was just climbing up by putting blocks under me and digging above me, and I randomly died.
