Tall flowers have been plucked in my ps4 world.The flowers dropped their items even though I didn't pick them

I've been playing in this world since the console edition and it's a flat world

 

Steps to reproduce:

1. Roam around some areas of the superflat world that I've been playing since the Console Edition.

2. Notice that the 2-block tall flowers and tall grasses I previously planted are missing (for example, a peony was planted on top of the grass block, and even though I never mined it, it dropped its item, and the flowers disappeared even though I never mined them).

 

Observed Results

When I arrived, I saw that my tall flower field was ruined and its items had dropped. 

 

Expected Results

The tall flowers and tall grasses shouldn't have been destroyed.
