Realms, marketplace and online servers not working or very tempermental

Since the last update, I am having trouble accessing my realm server. It keeps failing to load, which is even more annoying because I am paying for a subscription and have never had this problem before. Furthermore, I cannot access the marketplace, and servers are not working optimally. All the online features seem to be failing although I have an internet connection and am using the same connection I have used the whole time I've owned Minecraft. It seems to be since the last update a few days ago that has interrupted the game somehow.
