Shield not showing; appears tiny when shifting.

When I equip my shield in my off-hand it doesn't show up, it only appears when I shift, but it is very tiny, this issue has been occurring on my device for several months, I've tried uninstalling Minecraft and reinstalling, but the issue persists, this is the weirdest bug I've ever experienced.
