Crafter does not follow the pattern determined by the ingredients

Crafter block does not follow the set pattern before crafting instead it crafts the 1st possible pattern it encounters. Example wood plank input to barrel, pattern is half slab, but the crafter makes button. I'm using barrel and hopper with redstone pulsing mechanics to craft it automatically.
