PlayStation Nether Portals and Friend Invites No Longer Working

Since the last update on the PlayStation edition I can no longer use the nether portals even though they are indeed active and I can no longer invite my PS friends if I don't have them as Xbox friends even though they are on PlayStation where before this update supposed to correct minor bugs there was no problem at this level.
