Bedrock is not working on Java cross play server after an update I had today

I have been playing on a Java and bedrock cross play server that me and my friends play on. My Minecraft had an update this morning and now I can not join the server anymore. This has also happened to my friend who also plays on the same type of Xbox as me. The why I get into the server is with an app on my phone called 'bedrock together' from there I can type in the server ip and port and then press watch ad to run. After the ad has played I would be able to join the server as it would come up under the friends tab as a LAN game and then after some loading screens I get logged in. However, after the update I now get two different error screens when I log in. One of these state that the server sent a broken package and the other one simply says disconnected.
