Diamond blocks disappear when mined

When mining for diamond blocks in the latest version of the game, they seem to disappear when mined.  I am using a netherite pick axe with enchantments on but they vanish and I don’t seem to also get the stone blocks from it. 

I have tried an iron pick axe but still get the same issue.
