Using /replaceitem to equip wolf armor to tamed wolf not working properly

Tried it on my bedrock dedicated server and local client (same latest version[1.21])

The command I ran is

/replaceitem entity @e[type=wolf] slot.armor.chest 0 wolf_armor

 

It does show a successful command operation:

"Replaced slot.armor.chest slot of Wolf with 1 * Wolf Armor"

But it didn't actually equip/replace the armor on wolf.
