Blocks that shouldn't turn into moving blocks turn into one

I made this huge multi-floor elevator when I called the elevator to the top floor and it stopped. I went over and saw that the elevator was stuck somehow. Then I somehow walked through the block as if it were nothing, and it affected most of the bottom of the elevator. I'm guessing it didn't get out of the stage of a falling block when it got moved by a sticky piston.
