not able to /fill smooth quartz blocks or slabs

When doing a /fill command I tried to fill an area with smooth quartz blocks and the only smooth quartz option it allowed me to do was smooth quartz stairs. There is not an option to do smooth quartz slabs or blocks. I also tried typing in the whole item tag (smooth_quartz_block) and nothing came up on the options menu. Then when I pressed enter it gave me the error message Syntax error: Unexpected "smooth_quartz_block": at ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ >>smooth_quartz_block<<".
