Dark blue squares appear on ice near the edge of the screen

When flying across ice at least approx. 10 blocks above it, dark blue squares appear on it near the edge of the screen.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Create a new world with seed: 6895947282196191249
2. Fly at least 10 blocks above the Ice sheet in this world.
3. Observe that the Ice has dark blue squares/rectangles across it.

Expected Result:

The ice just looks like, a sheet of ice without any holes.
