Attempting to get free character creator items results in a connection error

I was able to claim the Trial Top and Trial Leggings in the Character Creator but when I tried to claim the rest of the free items I got a connection error even though I had a stable internet connection and now the items are unavailable and I would like to claim them before it's too late.
