Mobs spawned from Ominous Trials picking up Player Armor and Weapons, and not dropping the Player's Armor and Weapons upon death

I was looting a trial chamber with it being ominous, and died. However, my armor and sword was picked up by the ominous mobs, and my items were not dropped upon the monster's death. I understand that there is a bit of code to prevent them from dropping the armor and weapons they spawn with, but this should not apply to the player's items as well. (Ps i was in almost maxed out netherite gear and lost it all )
