Extreme lag in trial chambers on split screen

When in the trial chambers on split screen it gets really laggy, framerate drops very low and it is unplayable. Happens when the trial spawners are activated, possibly more lag when the breeze is spawned in? This only happened on split screen, singleplayer on the same device has been completely fine.
