Hotbar not responding to taps

Whenever I try to change an item or go to my inventory, the hot bar won’t register my taps, I’ve checked my settings, tried pressing and holding, double tapping, etc, and it won’t work. Occasionally it will pick up a tap, but mostly at random and never when I need it to.
