My skin shows up as Alex even though I have an internet connection

so when I join my world and my Microsoft account is connected and I made my skin when I joined the world. my skin is just an Alex even though I have an internet connection and everything and when I click the pause menu my skin shows up correctly. but when I look at like my inventory and I see like a little preview of my character It shows that I am Alex. also when I don't have a tool equipped my hand is also Alex, see more in the screen recording
