Player data gone after update

After the update to 1.21.0, the player data (XP, armour, position) is gone.

 

Details:

Game on Windows PC is the host, iPad connects through the friends tab / LAN games, iPad not logged in to Microsoft account. Both Game on PC and App on iPad updated from 1.20.81 to 1.21.0.

Observed Results:
iPad player starts at world spawn point empty handed.

Expected Results:
iPad player should still have his position, armour, XP.

Notes:
Did not have this problem with small updates. But if I remember correctly, it also happened when updating from 1.19 to 1.20.
