Achievements not working

Me and my friends have been playing on a minecraft world for a few months and just noticed none of us have been earning achievements. I checked the world settings and it says achievments are on and cheats/creative mode has never once been enabled. We are playing on Xbox's and Windows and have recently switched to a realm but still don't get achievments for anything that would normally earn us achievements.
