Ominous trial zombie deletes your armor

a Zombie in the Ominous trial stole my armor and weapons after i died. When i came back to get them, i killed the zombie and it dropped nothing. it just poofed and all my netherite armor was gone. good thing i made a backup this same day. others may not be as fortunate.
