Breaking Blocks in Creative Mode does not work right

Whenever I try breaking a block in a creative world, it cannot be broken with a single tap on the ‘Sword’ button, used for breaking. Instead the block disappears for a second, allowing you to phase through, but appears again. To fully break a block, you have to hold on the button, which is not how it is supposed to work.
