Players cannot join Dungeons and Dragons world

I have bought the D&D dlc for me and my friends a couple months back (about 1 month after it's release) every time we try to play my friends always get some new random error message about them no being able to connect to the world, or if they don't get an error message they are stuck on downloading the resource pack for hours.
