Music Discs do not stop background music

Background music is playing as it should. I place a music disc into the jukebox. Music disc is playing, but the background music does not stop. I am hearing both the background music and the music disc audios at the same time. I believe that the music disc should mute the background music so I can actually hear it in all its glory. I’ve reported this bug in the past and it had been labeled as “functions as intended” so if this is a feature, and not a bug, I’d like to understand why that is.
