New GUI Laggy

The new GUI is laggy, cluttered, and unresponsive. This makes no sense as many games and apps with far better and nicer looking GUI are not laggy at all, thus it must be a bug. This lag makes the game unplayable because it's effecting chests, hoppers, etc. and makes accessing inventory a chore. Since no noise support exists for MCPE, there is no way around it.
