Predictive typing bar does not show up in minecraft but does in other apps

The predictive typing bar is supposed to show up when you type something (I will attach a picture of intended operation) However it is not showing up in minecraft. This is happening for however long I have been playing on this device and it is very annoying. 

Steps to recreate:

1. Enable "Predictive text" in iPad keyboard settings
2. Open minecraft
3. Go into a world, relam, or server
4. Open chat and type anything 
5. you will see that the predictive typing bar does not show up.
