After lastest update, can't get into a world

I was excited about a new version of minecraft pocket edition on my iPad in the beginning of this week, but I could no longer get into a world. I click and the app crashes. I have restarted my iPad dozens of times. I have even deleted my app from my iPad (losing everything I have built so far) and bought it again in hope to play it, but the problem persists. I have an iPad mini. Everything else works, but my minecraft. How can I fix this?
