bluetooth mouse unusable after entering and exiting pause menu

ok so basically i tried to play minecraft after 1 month away with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and when i joined The Hive (featured server), i discovered that going into and exiting the pause menu with the esc button on my keyboard makes the mouse like useless, and only the keyboard would work. if i wanted full control of the ipad i had to TURN OFF bluetooth.

 

now, im not sure if this is tied to the game, or the device (i updated my ipad mini 5 from ipados 15 to 17.2 and immediately it felt weird), so please check that its just a game thing and not my ipad being dookie🙏🙏🙏
