Players have to do a workaround to be able to join cross-platform worlds if they used skins from Super Mario Mash-up Pack, instead of being just simply join-in like other skins from Minecraft Marketplace
Players who use skins from Super Mario Mash-up Pack cannot join cross-platform multiplayer and have to do an intense workaround if they want to play cross-platform multiplayer, with a risk of soft-locking until they switched away in the Dressing room mid-game.
I bought the game before finding out I cannot join in with skins from Super Mario Mash-up Pack by forcefully ripping off ability to play cross-platform multiplayer, so I will not consider those claiming such because it is a form of EULA roofing.
Do not change it so it no longer adhere the pro-customer side, otherwise I have audacity to undo to pro-customer version.
I've put these wake-up videos on YouTube for Mojang and Nintendo to watch, although these videos have use of strong language, I have watched it multiple times, go give them some watch before doing anything and replying to this report.
Check (Licensed Content) Super Mario mashup in Minecraft Feedback and watch related wake-up call videos Piracy is COMPLETELY justified: Louis tries NetFlix & remembers why (TL;DR in my bias, Paying for one gives worse experience than pirating the same), For me, it's like if I paid for Minecraft for Nintendo Switch with Super Mario Mash-up Pack and used it as if I don't know the feature, I cannot play the mash-up pack on my devices because it is a preload and is not on Minecraft Marketplace servers in the first place, so it cannot be saved to my Marketplace library, and I can't even enable cross-platform multiplayer on my Nintendo Switch for PC and mobile players to join in, but if I had downloaded Super Mario Mash-up Pack from the internet, I could use it on my devices and even host cross-platform multiplayer. In other words, when I paid for and used that on Nintendo Switch as if I don't know the feature, I get punished for using skins from Super Mario Mash-up Pack by not being able to use it on cross-platform multiplayer, but I don't get any punishments if I downloaded one from the internet and done some patching for my devices.
Sony & Discovery change mind on stealing from customers (TL;DR in my bias, although the license between Sony and Discovery was extended by 30 months before expiration, thus updated, Sony have used the word "purchase" wrong, with their meaning not easy to be found (EULA roofing / EULA roofying, or the rules are put to their EULA in a way it cannot be found without having an eagle eye / proper research)) and Why I will NEVER pay for YouTube Premium ever again! (TL;DR in my bias, Louis tried subscribing to services so he can download music videos for offline use, only to be found out it needed re-downloading before it could play again 3 days later, without Louis realizing. But by using a free third-party service, it allowed him do store videos that won't expire, also another case, he tried to view a film, only to be told by the streaming site that his setup can streamed in 480p max. He has the hardware to decode Full-HD content and even compatible OS and browser but because neither the hardware nor software support the DRM, the film can't be streamed in Full-HD or even HD, but when he risked legality issues downloading the film, he can watch it in Full-HD in greater quality on his PC and even mobile devices), For me it's like 3 years ago, because the game said "Includes Super Mario Mash-up Pack" without the disclaimer or even the star telling me what the star meant, so I have never find out skins from Super Mario Mash-up Pack was platform restricted until I tried to apply one while on cross-platform multiplayer and failing, and finding one in Minecraft Help FAQ about Super Mario Mash-up Pack after I bought the game, so it's years too late, and since I now hate any form of racist DRMs, I have to had downloaded one from the internet to truly use the "included" mash-up pack, also I can use it on my devices.
I am going to describe it in pro-customer way,
Steps to reproduce:
Step 1: Have Minecraft open on a device with Super Mario Mash-up Pack, Go to Dressing Room
Step 2: Choose Classic Skins
Step 3: Select skins from Super Mario Mash-up Pack
Step 4: Exit Dressing Room and return to menu
Step 5: Try joining cross-platform multiplayer with skins from Super Mario Mash-up Pack.
Expected Result: Players could just simply join cross-platform multiplayer with skins from Super Mario Mash-up Pack without having to do any workarounds and switch skins to ones from Super Mario Mash-up Pack in-game, and even be able to use one on PC and mobile. Even the physical box did not say that Super Mario Mash-up Pack was platform-specific, so I could just click Play, then Friends tab and join in, so I am making a wake-up call.
Actual Result: Players can't join in due to a "platform restriction DRM" bug, so players have to do these workarounds listed below to get joined and even so players can soft-lock the game if they entered Dressing Room without switching away the skin they're using. It is to a point when paying gets worse experience than downloading one on the internet because downloading from the internet gave more features than paying for one, for example, the result that I listed in Expected result. I have had enough with these "Licensing issue" and "Platform Restriction" DRM, lies and bullcrap as communities have already made ports of the mash-up pack to other platforms, the wake-up calls and so these restrictions (bug) in the official mash-up pack is better to be removed (nerfed hard, to a point it is never used) than making it more powerful. And I DID NOT FIND OUT THAT THE SUPER MARIO MASH-UP PACK WAS PLATFORM-RESTRICTED UNTIL I TRIED TO APPLY ONE 3 YEARS AGO, I DID NOT SAY IT SHOULD BE PLATFORM-RESTRICTED AND THE GAME DID THESE FOR ME, AND EVEN SO I CANNOT MAKE IT CROSS-PLATFORM WITHOUT WORKAROUNDS!! I WANT TO HAVE A WAY TO OWN THE MASH-UP PACK! I WANT TO BE PRO-CUSTOMER, NOT "FAKE PROFESSIONAL"! Platform restriction in this mash-up pack is literally a racist symbol, to be only used on Nintendo Switches and not any other platforms, as if one race was more important than any other, and this racist symbol has to be removed. I, players and parents will get mad and cry if you stopped the workaround listed below from working.
the workaround can be done as follows,
Step 1: Have a PC host with XBOX account logged on, and on a device with Super Mario Mash-up Pack, have Minecraft open and Microsoft Account signed-in, make sure you chose the skin you’ll use before going next step as you cannot change to one after joining
Step 2: Close and restart Minecraft on a device with Super Mario Mash-up Pack
Step 3: When Minecraft opens it's menu, go to Play, and then Friends tab as soon as possible so you could join in before the skin gets applied
Step 4: I've done these workarounds but it yields high failure rate due to skins not being fully loaded while joining or skins being loaded before joining, keep trying, and your client can play with your PC with skins from Super Mario Mash-up Pack!
Realistic, Community-benefiting Solution: Fix these anti-customer issues by removing platform-restriction DRM, IT'S BEST TO REMOVE PLATFORM RESTRICTIONS IN THE MASH-UP PACK AND PUT THE SUPER MARIO MASH-UP PACK TO MARKETPLACE WITH NINTENDO DURING WAKE-UP CALLS SO PEOPLE CAN USE THE MASH-UP PACK ON ANY PLATFORM!! In other words Mojang and Nintendo have to put Super Mario Mash-up Pack to Minecraft Marketplace, with platform restrictions removed as soon as possible.
