Previous progress/items lost when reconnected to Universal event

I wanted to play with my daughter, which seems to be impossible to get us both on the same server instance, so I tried to reconnect to the event again and again, but I lost all my progress instead Everything is gone..., Tickets, achievements, items, golden clappers...
