Everytime i lay blocks down they disappear. I also can't open doors or break things.

i've been playing in the same world for weeks now. Out of nowhere i go to start placing blocks and they won't place. I go to destroy blocks and it won't do anything to them. I'll go to open doors and they will open for half a second then close. I only play this with my wife on split screen and it does it to her as well. I've started another world but it works fine. so i'm thinking it's just a bug in this world.
