Massive Lagging at Base

Either in survival or creative mode, the game because very laggy when I am near one of my bases. So laggy that it is difficult to function in the game. If I get further away from the base, the game functions normally. This did not occur in version 15 of the game at the same base (with no significant changes). I have other bases in this particular world but have not tried version 16.0 at any of these other bases yet.
