Taking Damage when Standing on Shulker Mob in Peaceful Mode.

I was in a end city and I was standing on a shulker mob and I randomly  started taking damage. Then I glitched through the shulker when I was trying to fly away with my elytra and I fell to my death. I was playing on peaceful mode so it couldn't have been the shulker attacking me.
