Spam clicking to mine is faster than holding down the trigger

i noticed after i got a haste 2 beacon that i wasnt insta mining stone, so i tried spam clicking and i did, its slower to hold down the trigger to mine than spam clicking, you can test this by getting a single row of blocks with efficiency 4 and haste 2 and full sprinting while holding down the trigger, you will hit the blocks, but if you do the same while spam clicking you wont hit the blocks
