Recently updated, now won't run on Android 14

I updated Minecraft to the most recent standard update, running android 14 on a Google pixel 7pro.  When I try to open Minecraft, I get the red Mojang screen, then a black screen, the it goes back to my home screen.  The game fails to load every time.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, with no change.
