minecraft crashes when loading a chunk

Steps to reproduce:

join a server and when your game tries to load a chunk with a block which usually has blockdata and is not a static block (like hoppers, droppers) but the block somehow has no data (because it is placed as a static block) Minecraft crashes because the game expects that there is any blockdata.
