Crackling noise while Minecraft is running

I have been playing Minecraft starting around 10:00am EST and had no issues, i logged out around 4:00pm EST and came back around 5:45 EST after rebooting my computer and i have crackling noises now in the game.  It effects sounds on other applications too.  When i log out of minecraft, i have no sound issues
