Typing/Keyboard PC

Making signs in villages and I am allowed to make one sign then I become unable to type and my keyboard becomes disabled. I tested it in my own world and on realms and it does the same thing. I try to chat or search as well and nothing. I have to exit out of Minecraft completely in order to type again.
